Crypto is one of the biggest advertising niches on Telegram, and it looks different from crypto advertising anywhere else. This article uses our archive of sponsored messages to answer four practical questions: how big the niche is, who is actually advertising, how long a typical advertiser lasts, and what Telegram's rules allow. Every number comes from our public API, with the link, so you can repeat the count.

What the archive is. It is a record of sponsored messages our crawler saw in public Telegram channels, from both the Gram and the euro cabinets. It shows what ran, not what Telegram permits or what worked. Niches are assigned automatically, and all numbers below are as of 29 September 2026.

How big is crypto among Telegram ads?#

The archive holds 637,719 creatives from 102,313 advertisers (stats). The niche list (niches) puts crypto third, with 46,373 creatives — about 7% of the archive. Trading signals and Forex lead with 129,012, gambling follows with 57,393. About 6,970 advertisers have crypto as their main niche (advertisers).

Gambling deserves a caveat. Telegram's ad policy bans it in every cabinet (clause 5.6), yet the archive holds tens of thousands of gambling creatives. Being in the archive means an ad was seen in a channel, not that it followed the rules.

Who advertises: accounts, not websites#

We took the 100 crypto advertisers with the most creatives (first page, then offsets 20–80):

  • 99 of the 100 are Telegram accounts — channels and bots — and only one is an advertiser identified by a website domain;
  • 39 have "bot" in the account name, so the ad leads straight into a bot;
  • the busiest has 356 creatives; the median in this group is 76.5; together they account for 9,586 creatives.

For a crypto marketer the lesson is that the competition you see in Telegram is not the exchanges' websites. It is thousands of small funnels that send users into a channel or a bot. Names deserve caution: a search for "binance" in the archive returns mostly accounts with numbers or extra words in the name, and we cannot tell from the archive which of them, if any, belong to the brand. Before you treat an account as an official one, check it against the brand's own site, and see how to check a channel before buying an ad.

How long do they last?#

Crypto advertisers in the top 100 come and go fast:

  • median time between first and last sighting: 101 days;
  • 37 of the 100 first appeared in the last 90 days, 14 of them in the last 30;
  • 86 were still running in the last week.

Volume is not shrinking. In the daily trend series (trends) crypto creatives averaged about 316 a day in the first 30 days of the 1 July–29 September window and about 476 a day in the last 30, roughly 7.4% of all recorded creatives. Read that with care: the series counts what our crawler recorded, so a rise can also reflect wider crawler coverage.

What Telegram's ad policy says about crypto#

The Ad Policies and Guidelines do not mention cryptocurrency by name, so crypto is not banned as such. What applies to it are the general rules. Clause 5.7 bans "get-rich-quick offers, pyramid schemes, multilevel marketing, including offers of investment with guaranteed return". The destination rules also apply: the channel or bot must be active and complete, and changing it after approval can get an advertiser suspended (clauses 4.1, 4.4, 4.5). Search ads have their own keyword rule (4.8) — see the search ads guide.

Across the whole archive about 81% of creatives ran through the Gram cabinet (515,096 of 637,719; stats); we do not have that split for crypto alone. That cabinet targets lists of channels, bots and search keywords, without geo or interests (practitioners' reports). For prices, see what Telegram Ads costs rather than a single figure: published estimates for the crypto niche differ widely.

Research a competitor yourself#

  1. Open the crypto niche and the advertisers catalog.
  2. For any account, look at how many creatives it has, when it first and last appeared, and what the ad text promises.
  3. Check the destination. Where does the button lead — a channel, a bot, a website?
  4. Look at where it advertises: the channels it appears in show the audience it pays for.
  5. Compare with the rules before you copy a promise you see in an ad.
